Edwin Elliott Carnett (born October 21, 1916) is a former left fielder in Major League Baseball who played for three different teams from 1941 to 1945. Listed at 6' 0", 185 lb., he batted and threw left-handed. He was born in Springfield, Missouri. Carnett, nicknamed "Lefty", entered the majors in 1941 with the Boston Braves, playing in two games before joining the US Navy during World War II (1942–43). After discharge, he played for the Chicago White Sox (1944) and Cleveland Indians (1945). In a three-season career, Carnett posted a 3.40 ERA with four strikeouts, three walks, and 5 ⅓ innings in six pitching appearances. He did not have a decision. Carnett, aged , is recognized as the second oldest living major league ballplayer, as well as the oldest living former member of the White Sox and Indians. ==See also==
